About

Elizabeth (“Liz”) Behsudi is the Director of the Domains & Jurisdiction Program of the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network. She has over 20 years of combined experience as a lawyer, at firms and in-house, representing clients in a wide array of commercial disputes in both the United States and in international cross-border cases. Prior to joining the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network, Liz was the Vice President and General Counsel of Public Interest Registry (2012-2019), the manager of .org. In that role, she actively participated in major international internet governance processes, including ICANN. She managed the company’s anti-abuse program, aimed at detecting and remediating technical abuse (e.g. phishing, pharming, malware, botnets) in the Domain Name System, as well as compliance with court-ordered “take downs” of domain names and requests to disable domain names based on objectionable content. In her previous capacity, she also served as a Member of the Domains & Jurisdiction Program, and an active contributor to the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network. Liz holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Rollins College and earned her Juris Doctorate from American University’s Washington College of Law. She is a veteran of the United States Air Force, where she served as a Russian Linguist (1979-1983).
