About

I qualified as a South African attorney and later as a UK solicitor. I was lucky enough to start my career in the field of Intellectual Property (“IP”) Law at a time when the Internet started to disrupt the IP community. This sparked my interest in domain names and the enforcement of copyright online.

While working hard to achieve my billable hours I started developing the idea for a service that would synergise the knowledge of IP law (“lex” in Latin) with technology, which I later called Lexsynergy.

After I gained the courage to leave private practice, I began laying the foundation for Lexsynergy, which has since become one of the world’s most accredited domain registrar and a leader in online brand enforcement.

I have learnt that there is no formula for success, but you can put yourself in a position to achieve it by being open to opportunities, diligently carrying out your work and being persistent.

My business philosophy is that a service must make business, legal and practical sense while addressing a need or solving an issue. If that can be achieved, it will instil trust in your business and confidence in your clients.

If you have spent the time reading my brief story you have shown persistence, so feel free to reach out and connect.

The Challenge Facing African TLDs

Africa's digital ecosystem is growing rapidly, with internet access becoming a central driver for innovation, business, and socio-economic development. As this digital adoption expands, so too does the importance of domain governance, particularly the effective management of Top-Level Domains (TLDs). Unfortunately, over the years, African registries have struggled to manage their TLDs, often leading to missed opportunities, inefficiencies, and a loss of competitive edge in the global domain market. more
