After graduating with a Diploma in computer science, Martin started his professional career by doing research at the Ruhr University in Bochum on Trusted computing and Secure communication channels. In 2008 he moved to TU Berlin where he helped to develop an education portal that educated internet users on the threats of the internet. In 2012, he was one of the founders of Kluuu, a paid video-chat communication platform for consulting offers. In 2013 he joined Project A as a CTO, where he worked on a number of e-commerce projects. After a year there, he moved on to become the CTO of Flightright, where he installed a proper development and monitoring process as well as initiated building a legal-tech framework that allowed for spinning out new startups in this area effectively.

Since 2015 Martin is the CTO of WATTx where he is responsible for everything related to IT and data science.
