Brian Cimbolic is the Vice President and General Counsel of Public Interest Registry (PIR) and oversees the company’s legal affairs and manages its Anti-Abuse Program. PIR is based in Reston, Virginia and is the registry operator of the .ORG top-level domain.
Brian has been heavily involved in various domain name abuse discussion fora, including serving as one of the original authors of the Framework to Address Abuse, servings as Coordinator for the Domains and Jurisdiction track for the Internet and Jurisdiction Policy Network, serving on the leadership team of the Framework for Registry Operator to Respond to Security Threats, and was co-founder of the Child Sexual Abuse Material Referral Discussion Group for registries and registrars.
Previously, Brian was Deputy General Counsel of PIR and before joining PIR in 2014, Brian was an Associate at Krooth & Altman, LLP, working with clients in finance and litigation matters. Brian holds a B.A. from Catholic University, and a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law.
