About

I’m Mohd Hashim. I spent 19 years in data center infrastructure and technical operations, most recently managing critical facility operations for hyperscale environments. That background shaped how I think about systems—where structural patterns and early signals matter more than surface-level metrics.

A few years ago, I became interested in applying that same rigor to a different kind of infrastructure: domain namespaces. I started analyzing TLD zone files to understand what registered inventory actually consists of—how much represents genuine business adoption, how much is speculative, and how much sits in a large, ambiguous middle that standard registration metrics don’t distinguish.

I’m the founder of DomainGemsAI, a registry and domain intelligence platform. My current work focuses on cross-TLD structural analysis, namespace composition, and the gap between registration volume and real adoption quality.

My contributions to CircleID will focus on data-informed observations about nTLD ecosystem health, namespace composition patterns, and what zone file analysis can reveal that headline registration numbers don’t.

What Zone File Analysis Reveals About the Gap Between nTLD Registration Volume and Namespace Reality

Registration totals reveal size, not composition. Structural analysis of major new gTLDs finds strikingly similar architectures but meaningful differences in operator adoption, speculative holdings, and noise, suggesting namespace health requires more than volume metrics alone. more
