I am a university professor specializing in computer science, with teaching and research interests in Python programming, computer networks, Edge AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. My work emphasizes bridging theoretical foundations with real-world system design, scalable architectures, and modern distributed technologies.
Beyond academia, I have been actively engaged in global Internet governance, technical standardization, and public communication. I have contributed to Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standards work, participating in the development of technical specifications that support the global Internet infrastructure. I previously served as Chair of the Task Force for Arabic Script Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs), leading efforts to facilitate the integration of the Arabic script into the DNS Root Zone. I also chaired the Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG) Measurement Working Group, contributing to initiatives that promote the Universal Acceptance of all domain names and email addresses.
In addition to my technical and academic work, I am a contributing author for newspapers and media outlets, writing on technology, digital policy, society, and broader contemporary issues. I currently serve as a member of the Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC), where I contribute to discussions on the security, stability, and resilience of the global Internet’s unique identifier systems.
My work spans academia, Internet standards, and public discourse, with a continuing focus on advancing a more secure, inclusive, and interoperable Internet.
