About

Ramil Mastiyev is a Baku-based IT Solution Manager at Huawei’s Enterprise Business Group, with 20+ years of experience in data centre design, systems engineering, and technical project management across banking, academic, telecom, and public-transport infrastructure. He is also co-founder of Istihost, a hosting company he has run since 2004.

Alongside his professional work, Ramil is the sole developer of MarinaDNS, a free DNS and network diagnostics toolkit, and NODA, a dual-axis DNS health and best-practice assessment methodology built in the spirit of what SSL Labs did for TLS and Tranco did for domain ranking. NODA scores any domain on two independent axes—a Health score for what’s working right now, and a Best Practice score for how well it meets modern standards—never blended into a single misleading number.

He writes from the intersection of enterprise infrastructure experience and hands-on DNS research: recently running NODA’s methodology against 309 real-world domains across three sectors to see how DNS security hygiene actually holds up at scale.
