Mihaela Vata is a security and intelligence expert with nearly 20 years of experience spanning national security, counter-terrorism, forensic intelligence, corporate investigations, and financial-crime risk advisory. She previously served with the Romanian Intelligence Service as an analyst and advisor on operational and strategic matters, and later led corporate intelligence engagements—including investigations and due diligence, reputational risk and crisis monitoring, and geopolitical intelligence—as Head of Corporate Intelligence Practice at NSSG. Her private-sector background also includes senior project management at Interdiligence and sanctions and AML/CFT risk screening and advisory at ComplyAdvantage. A graduate of Russian language and area studies, she maintains a particular focus on Russia and the former Soviet space alongside her broader work in investigations, consultancy, and fraud/AML. She is an alumna of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies and holds advanced degrees in National Security Intelligence Management.
