Charles Anaman is a communications and systems engineer and entrepreneur specializing in fiber-optic and microwave technologies. He applied this expertise in the medical robotics field, working with radiotherapy gantries for cancer treatment and using machine learning to support treatment planning. He attested to and configured computer control systems, as well as service, data-management, and data-storage systems supporting these treatments. His multidisciplinary background also includes renewable energy and technical systems. His current projects explore the use of AI agents and open source CAD tools to develop and adapt machinery for local needs. His original version of Waali Wireless was a wireless, education-focused Wi-Fi network in Accra at La, created to use communications technology to enhance access to education and learning resources. He advocates technical sovereignty, practical engineering education, and community ownership of knowledge. His interests include sustainable infrastructure, local manufacturing, and the role of open technology and communications in enabling African communities to build, maintain, and improve the systems they rely on.
