Professor Rao Naveed Bin Rais is a Senior Member of IEEE and holds a PhD and MS in Computer Engineering, specializing in Communication Networks and Distributed Systems, from the University of Côte d’Azur (formerly University of Nice Sophia Antipolis), France, awarded in 2011 and 2007, respectively. He earned his BE in Computer Systems Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, in 2002.

With over two decades of experience spanning academia, research, and industry R&D, Professor Rais has made significant contributions to the field through numerous publications in internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals and conferences. His research focuses on next-generation communication networks, network protocols and architectures, information-centric and software-defined networking, machine learning applications, cloud computing, network virtualization, and challenges in Internet naming and addressing.
