Radix launched its official .host website in conjunction with the hosting industry’s premier trade-show, Hostingcon. The free pre-registration campaign is still open online.Radix Registry is pleased to announce that its bid for the operation of the generic top level domain (gTLD) .host has passed the initial evaluation stage in the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers’ (ICANN) new gTLD program.
The .host gTLD is one of three uncontested applications amongst the 31 new gTLDs that Radix has applied for and is scheduled to go live in January 2014. Incidentally, Radix happens to be the largest applicant from the Asia Pacific region with seven of its extensions featuring as the top seven most valuable new gTLDs as ranked by sedo.com.
Created exclusively for the hosting industry, .host aims to be the preferred domain extension for web hosts, ASPs, ISVs, cloud service providers, data centers and other entities within the web hosting space. Apart from offering short, memorable names, .host domains offer increased search efficiency, and better categorization and branding for the hosting community, not to mention the instant recognition associated with the .host extension.
Earlier this month, Radix launched its official .host website in conjunction with the hosting industry’s premier trade-show, Hostingcon. Kiosks were set up at the trade show to enable visitors to pre-register, free of cost, for their preferred .host domain names. The free pre-registration campaign is still open online at http://dothostregistry.com/.
