Radix has reported its strongest half-year performance to date in its H1 2025 Premiums Report, revealing a 50% year-on-year increase in premium domain registrations. The bi-annual report highlights accelerating demand for high-value digital real estate, underscoring the growing importance of premium domains in brand positioning—particularly within the technology sector.
At the forefront of this growth is the .tech extension, which saw a 70% surge in premium registrations compared to H2 2024. The first half of the year alone saw 32 .tech domains registered at $5,000 per year, 10 domains at $10,000 per year, and a standout single-character domain sold at $25,000 per year—reflecting strong appetite for concise, brand-defining names.
The rise in .tech adoption mirrors broader trends in the startup and innovation ecosystem. Companies across AI, decentralized finance, digital identity, and music technology are increasingly opting for domains that signal a tech-first identity. Examples such as great.tech, clone.tech, and music.tech illustrate how Radix domains are being used to power forward-thinking ventures at the intersection of culture and code.
Beyond new registrations, renewal rates remain strong, with .tech domains accounting for 27% of all premium renewals - suggesting sustained user value and long-term brand commitments. Domains renewed for the third time or more made up 85% of total renewals, underscoring customer stickiness.
With over 95% of its premium inventory still available, Radix is positioning itself as a key player in the future of online branding. Its portfolio includes single-character domains, geo keywords, and tech-centric terms no longer available on legacy TLDs, offering businesses a rare opportunity to secure digital real estate built for scale.
Radix’s momentum in H1 2025 signals a robust, maturing market for premium domains—one that is increasingly being shaped by the tech community’s branding needs.
