AusRegistry International is proud to announce its sponsorship of ICANN’s San Francisco conference from 13-18 March, as part of its commitment to drive innovation and foster the expansion and function of the Internet.
AusRegistry International will send its largest ever team of new Top-Level Domain (TLD) experts to the conference and will host an exhibit booth as an official sponsor.
A major topic of discussion at the conference will be the upcoming implementation of ICANN’s new TLD program, which is expected to commence later this year.
The program will allow for new Internet extensions similar to .com, .biz and .info to be applied for and introduced to the generic top level space. To date interest has been shown in possible extensions including brands (.canon), generic words (.love) and geographic locations (.paris).
Adrian Kinderis, CEO of AusRegistry International, said a team of nine new TLD experts from AusRegistry International will attend the conference to impart their knowledge and provide advice to potential new TLD applicants.
“ICANN’s 40th conference in San Francisco is set to be one of the most well attended conference events in the lead up towards the approval of the application guidebook and launch of new Top-Level Domains. As a result we have decided to throw our full support behind the meeting as a show of support for both ICANN and the new TLD program. We are sending our largest team ever to San Francisco to prepare for the expected influx of potential new TLD applicants who will be looking for expert advice on turning their new TLD dreams into a reality.
“The confirmation by ICANN that the applicant guidebook will be released in April has injected confidence into the industry that new TLDs are coming and they are coming soon. We couldn’t be more excited to see what the conference will deliver,” Mr Kinderis said.
“We encourage all new TLD applicants to come and meet the team from AusRegistry International for an insight into how our extensive experience as a provider of Domain Name Registry Services can be of assistance both pre and post application.”
Mr Kinderis said conference attendees will be treated to an engaging yet educational experience at the AusRegistry International booth, in line with the company’s vibrant culture.
AusRegistry International will be located at booth 208 at ICANN’s San Francisco exhibition area.
