GJB Partners, a US leader in business and brand management, today appointed AusRegistry International as the Domain Name Registry Services provider for its bid to operate the .jewelers new Top-Level Domain to provide Jewelers within North America with a distinct and authoritative home on the Internet.
The announcement, made on the eve of the highly anticipated newdomains.org conference in Munich, Germany, follows the approval of the new Top-Level Domain program in June by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Under the program, web addresses will move beyond the traditional .com to .anything in a dramatic shift that will introduce a new platform for creativity and major new revenue streams for online investment.
The .jewelers new Top-Level Domain will allow for the creation of a unique, trusted and authoritative space on the Internet devoted to Jewelers. To support this vision, .jewelers will be introduced with an eligibility policy that will restrict registrations only to verified members of the jewelry industry, providing a unique opportunity for businesses and individuals associated with the industry to position themselves within a name space that holds significant relevance to their audience or customers.
Ann Glynn, GJB Partners Managing Partner, said there was only one Domain Name Registry services provider with the skills and expertise to deliver the specific requirements of the .jewelers new Top-Level Domain.
“We decided to appoint AusRegistry International as our Domain Name Registry Services partner for the .jewelers new Top-Level Domain because of their experience and expertise in operating high volume Domain Name registries in restrictive policy environments. Designing and operating the .jewelers new Top-Level Domain to specifically serve the jewelry industry is crucial and having a registry partner that is able to deliver our unique and demanding registry system is of critical importance. This is why AusRegistry International was the only choice,” Ms Glynn said.
Adrian Kinderis, CEO of AusRegistry International, welcomed the announcement.
“We are extremely proud to be chosen as the Domain Name Registry Services provider for the .jewelers new Top-Level Domain. The decision to appoint us directly stems from our ability to develop, launch and maintain registries that carry restrictive eligibility policy. Our technology will allow for the creation of a name space that is trusted, verified and developed specifically for Jewelers. It is this type of generic term name space that the new Top-Level Domain Program has been developed to support. We couldn’t be more excited to work with the team at GJB Partners to ensure .jewelers becomes the world’s most recognized online space for Jewelers,” Mr Kinderis said. ??“This client win marks a significant step in the extension of our business within the North American market and puts to rest any doubts regarding our Australian origins. The new Top-Level Domain Program is a global movement and it is time potential applicants begin to look beyond what is available in the North American market and do what GJB Partners have done—choose the best Registry Services partner for their business. We challenge potential applicants to put us to the test and see how we compare to the competition.”
Michael Twist and Tony Kirsch, Top-Level Domain name specialists with AusRegistry International, will join the operators of .jewelers, GJB Partners, in Munich, Germany for the newdomains.org conference on new Top-Level Domains this week. They will be speaking with other potential applicants from around the world on how AusRegistry International can develop, implement and activate the world’s leading Domain Name Registry Solution for new Top-Level Domain applicants.
