Report Reveals Planned DNSSEC Adoption of 2010 by Key Industries Still in Limbo

A recent progress report on DNSSEC adoption reveals the extent to which organizations in a number of industries are falling short of their own objectives for making Domain Name Server (DNS) infrastructure more secure. The progress report, conducted by Secure64 Software Corporation, is a follow-up to a 2010 study by Forrester Research titled, "DNSSEC Ready for Prime Time," which reported on organizations' plans to implement DNSSEC in order to shore up vulnerabilities in DNS. more

Senior vice president Kurt Pritz has resigned his new job as ICANN's Chief Strategy Officer over an undisclosed conflict of interest, reports Kieren McCarthy in .Nxt. "In a note posted on the organization's website earlier today, new CEO Fadi Chehade noted that Pritz had resigned 'because of a recently identified conflict of interest'. ICANN has so far refused to identify what that conflict is." more

Kevin Murphy reporting on DomainIncite: "Image Online Design, which unsuccessfully applied for the .web gTLD all the way back in 2000, has sued ICANN, alleging trademark infringement and breach of contract. IOD, which says it has over 20,000 .web domains under management in an alternate root, says ICANN never officially rejected its .web bid, and that it should not have allowed other companies to apply for it." more

Cyberattackers Targeting Iranian Infrastructure and Communications Companies

Internet based attacks have targeted Iranian infrastructure and communications companies, disrupting Internet access across the country, according to today's reports.
