Twenty-five years after the launch of .DE, a new domain for Germany, .COM.DE, is now available to the general public through leading registrars (domain vendors) in Germany and globally.
Unlike the other domain extension currently being launched, .COM.DE domains are suitable for any business or individual, and can be acquired by anyone within or outside Germany, without restriction. They can be used for websites, blogs, email, redirection to an existing site, or can be acquired as an investment.
Leading German and global companies have already pre-registered to obtain thousands of .COM.DE. domains, ranging from bb.com.de (for smartphones) to champagne.com.de.
“.COM.DE is already the most successful domain launch in our history,” said Ben Crawford, CEO of global domain registry CentralNic.
Thorsten Smeets, COO and Director Sales of domain registrar Key Systems, said “.COM.DE combines the most popular generic and country code domains in the world: .COM and .DE at an affordable price.”
Chief Strategy Officer of registrar Hexonet, Robert Birkner, added: “The introduction of .COM.DE offers everyone the unique opportunity to get the domain they’ve always wanted under a .DE at reasonable prices. The playing field is even for all and many highly valuable domains will be available.”
.COM.DE domains will be launched over the next month by leading registrars including: eNom, Schlund Technologies, United Domains, InterNet X, EuroDNS, Cronon, Strato, Open SRS, Key Systems and Hexonet, among others.
