ICANN Gets an In-House Physical Security Operations Professional

ICANN has announced a new hire, Mark Jardina – an expert in global security, health and safety as Vice President of Security Operations. Jardina role will involve physical security operations including travel advisories (for ICANN meetings, Board meetings and other business-related travel), onsite security at ICANN Public Meetings and events, and security for ICANN offices around the world.

— ICANN CEO Göran Marby: “Safety and security of the ICANN stakeholders, Board and the organization are our top priority. Mark brings over 15 years of global security experience gained within the public, private, NGO and diplomatic sectors. We are very pleased to have this in-house expertise.”

— Jardina’s background are reported to include global security gained in the international development community, global media development and private sector corporate security, as well as the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Marine Corps.
