Today the i2Coalition has joined the Internet Association and Computer and Communications Industry Association (CCIA) in sending a letter to Director General Roberto Azevedo of the World Trade Organization regarding the accreditation of civil society experts to 11th Annual Ministerial Meeting. In the letter, the organizations express concern about the process that led to the recession of the visas of a number of non-governmental organizations who are established and accredited WTO organizations.
“We all benefit when we hear a wide variety of viewpoints, and full confidence in the WTO process is critical for digital trade. It is important that the WTO quickly, and thoroughly, review the circumstances that led to the change in these civil society visas,” said i2Coalition Co-Founder, Board and Policy Chair David Snead.
