The Edgemoor Research Institute (ERI) and Taiwan’s .TW Registry (TWNIC) have announced a three-year strategic partnership to enhance Domain Name System (DNS) data management and internet security. The collaboration focuses on joint research, data sharing, and capacity building, aiming to strengthen global internet infrastructure and governance.
A key initiative under this partnership is Project Jake, which targets the efficient and policy-based collection and disclosure of DNS registration data. ERI and TWNIC will work together to implement a public-facing disclosure system using RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) by the end of Q1 2026. This system will authenticate and authorize data requestors, promoting responsible and secure access to DNS information.
ERI President Stephen D. Crocker highlighted the importance of the partnership in developing resilient and transparent internet systems. TWNIC Chairman Kenny Huang echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the project’s role in tackling complex cybersecurity and DNS management challenges.
This agreement paves the way for ongoing technical collaboration, co-authored publications, and training initiatives to support the global internet community. A full project update is expected by early 2026.
