About

Amin Dayekh is a network engineer, Internet governance analyst, and founder of MegaMore Wireless Broadband Ltd., an independent ISP building more than 149 km of fiber infrastructure across Northern Nigeria. His work spans the hard realities of last-mile connectivity, the strategic architecture of emerging IXPs, and the policy battles shaping Africa’s digital future.

He is actively involved in regional governance spaces, AFRINIC, ICANN, and Smart Africa, where he has become known for his investigative reporting, evidence-driven advocacy, and insistence on transparency in the stewardship of Internet number resources.

His work has triggered industry-wide debates on multistakeholder legitimacy, RIR accountability, and the geopolitics of IP addressing, including recent inquiries that prompted formal responses from ICANN and other institutions.

Amin’s research focuses on the integrity of the RIR system, IPv4 leasing and abuse patterns, and the intersection of digital sovereignty and infrastructure security. He has contributed to major legal, technical, and policy dossiers used by investigative journalists, regulators, and global Internet bodies.

Beyond engineering, he is a writer and analyst whose essays blend technical insight with governance critique and philosophical reflection. He is currently authoring Legality vs. Legitimacy, a forthcoming multi-volume work examining Internet governance, African digital sovereignty movements, and the structural risks facing the global Internet ecosystem.

Amin is also the visionary behind KN-IX (Kano Internet Exchange) and other regional interconnection initiatives aimed at strengthening Africa’s traffic locality, cost efficiency, and digital resilience. His approach combines strategic engineering with a long-view understanding of institutions built from years of confronting structural failures, legal overreach, and attempts at regulatory capture within the Internet ecosystem.

He speaks and writes with the precision of an engineer, the skepticism of an investigator, and the conviction of someone who believes Africa must shape its own digital destiny.
