BlueCat Networks’ IPv6-Ready Solutions Pass Critical International Security Standards

BlueCat Networks, the IPAM Intelligence™ company, today announced that its IP Address Management, DNS and DHCP solutions are now officially in evaluation for Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 2+ (EAL-2+) Certification after successfully completing several initial milestones.

Common Criteria is an internationally recognized set of guidelines (ISO 15408), which define a common framework for evaluating security features and capabilities of Information Technology security products. Common Criteria evaluation is mandated for information security products purchased by the U.S. federal government and other government and commercial clients around the world. BlueCat Networks’ decision to undergo Common Criteria evaluation further demonstrates the company’s commitment to delivering the highest quality solutions to organizations worldwide.

“Common Criteria guidelines are recognized worldwide and BlueCat Networks’ inclusion on the in-evaluation list is an important milestone,” said Brad Micklea, VP, Product Management, BlueCat Networks. “Organizations in both the public and private sector that demand the highest levels of security can continue to be confident that our Proteus IPAM solution and Adonis DNS and DHCP solution are secure and are being tested against the most exacting international standards.”

BlueCat Networks’ IPAM, DNS and DHCP solutions are in evaluation with CygnaCom’s Security Evaluation Laboratory (SEL), a certified National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Common Criteria Testing Laboratory (CCTL) authorized to conduct product evaluations according to the Common Criteria (CC) (ISO/IEC 15408) and the Common Evaluation Methodology (CEM) under the U.S. scheme. NIAP is a collaboration of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency (NSA).

“BlueCat Networks products are undergoing rigorous testing and evaluation in our lab and have successfully achieved the first step in the Common Criteria certification process,” said Nithya Rachamadugu, Director, Security Evaluation Laboratory, CygnaCom Solutions. “BlueCat Networks now joins the prestigious list of in-evaluation products that government agencies and other organizations consider when selecting information technology solutions. The BlueCat Networks team has demonstrated a thorough understanding of the requirements for certification based on our detailed analysis of the functionality their solutions offer. We look forward to continuing to work with BlueCat Networks as their solutions progress further through the multiple phases of the certification process.”
