UltraDNS Corporation today announced its revolutionary DNS Shield has been selected by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) as a finalist for the 21st Annual Codie Awards in the “Best Enterprise Security Solution” category.
UltraDNS recently launched the DNS Shield in partnership with major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) including AOL and Earthlink, to provide the highest level of reliability and security to millions of Internet users. The DNS Shield is deployed within the core of the network of each participating partner, creating a hardened, secure, and robust Internet infrastructure for the millions of enterprise domains that UltraDNS powers. The finalists in this category provide the best overall security solutions for enterprises or large networks.
“UltraDNS is proud to have been selected as a finalist for this prestigious award. This recognition from the SIIA is not only a significant achievement for UltraDNS, but is also an acknowledgment of the increasingly important role DNS plays in supporting both ecommerce and business operations,” said Ben Petro, president and CEO, UltraDNS. “The DNS Shield was created out of the need for a superior approach to the security of this critical component of the Internet.”
Established in 1986, the Codie Awards remains the standard-bearer for celebrating outstanding achievement and vision in the software, digital content and education technology industries. UltraDNS was chosen as one of the finalists from more than 1,026 nominations submitted by over 500 companies in all categories which exceeded the 2005 record of participating companies.
“The 21st Annual Codie Awards continue the tradition of honoring the best of the software, information and education technology industries,” said Ken Wasch, SIIA President. “When one considers the number of outstanding companies that competed this year, being named a Codie Awards Finalist is a significant achievement for UltraDNS.”
The winners of the 2006 Codie Awards will be presented at a gala on May 16, 2006.
