Global domain registry operator Afilias announced today they are expanding their new top level domain (TLD) portfolio to include dotPROMO (.PROMO), the new home of promotional offers on the web.
Promotions have become an integral part of almost every sales process worldwide, especially branded products. According Razorfish’s 2015 Global Digital Marketing Report, consumers are well aware of their value to their favorite brands, and they expect to be rewarded. Over 70% of consumers worldwide think it’s important for brands to reward them with special offers and promotions.
Companies will soon be able to put their promotions on the new .PROMO web extension, making it easy for consumers to find the promotions and participate. .PROMO is the perfect place for all types of promotions: coupons, promotional codes, sales events, special discounts, daily deals, sweepstakes, contests, loyalty programs, and giveaways, etc. It is also instantly understood in a wide range of languages and is a highly searched keyword.
“.PROMO quickly and clearly communicates a special deal or offer and it works for any brand, product, store, market segment, or industry. Consumers are constantly searching for promotions, and .PROMO addresses are a natural place to find exactly what they need,” said Roland LaPlante, Chief Marketing Officer of Afilias. “We believe companies will quickly realize the value this domain brings in stimulating and capturing sales. Afilias is always looking to add attractive TLDs to our portfolio, and .PROMO, which offers genuine value to registrants and end-users, meets all of our criteria.”
The .PROMO launch schedule will be announced later in the summer.
Afilias has been announcing one new TLD almost every month in the last year and a half. A major player in the TLD registry industry with cutting-edge infrastructure and a flexible and scalable service support model, it is a leading contender in the world of new TLDs. The company will continue to share their experience and expert advice on developing, launching, marketing, and operating new TLDs at the ICANN 53 Conference.
