The Public Interest Registry (PIR) is pleased to announce that Ascio Technologies, Inc. and CORE, a not-for-profit membership association of Internet domain name registrars have joined the Protectyour.org international public awareness campaign as partners.
NeuStar has deployed internationalized domain names (IDNs) for both the Chinese and the Japanese languages in the .BIZ top- level Internet domain. Interested registrants will be able to secure .BIZ domain names using these characters as of April 21, 2007.
Viltz has been the organization's president and CEO since February 2003. Effective 1 January 2007, Eva Frölich, chair of the PIR board of directors, will serve as acting CEO until a replacement is named.

Public Interest Registry (PIR) President and CEO, Edward G. Viltz, traveling with an international delegation of Internet leaders, has begun a three-day outreach initiative in Sofia, Bulgaria including meetings with President Georgi Parvanov and other leaders in the region.
PIR is working to provide noncommercial organizations with the knowledge and skills to bring the Internet to citizens of all income levels throughout Latin America.
