Radix Adds Dyn as a DNS Service Provider

Radix, the portfolio registry operator which runs leading new gTLDs, has contracted global industry leader and supplier to internet giants like Twitter, Netflix and Linkedin—Dyn, to become its second supplier of DNS services for all its new domains. Dyn’s DNS service will run concurrently with Radix’s existing DNS services, thereby adding a layer of DNS redundancy.

Radix run TLDs have been using registry back-end supplier, CentralNic, for its DNS services thus far. As a part of this partnership, Dyn becomes the second DNS service provider for all new gTLDs run by Radix which include; .website, .site, .online, .space, .tech, .store, .host and .press. Both the DNS services working in parallel ensure non-interrupted services for our domain users, even in case one of the providers faces a downtime.

With the addition of Dyn, Radix’s new gTLDs boast of a global anycast network spread across 45+ locations including London, Seattle, Chicago, Sao Paulo, Sydney, Seattle and Shanghai.

Sandeep Ramchandani, Business Head & VP Radix said “Customers expect that their domain names always resolve. It is their no. 1 priority, and a fundamental expectation. We want to go an extra mile by ensuring that the registry end of the DNS service is rock-solid. A global leader like Dyn was an obvious choice, due to their strong credentials and experience of handling mission critical DNS services. As a fast growing registry company, with big aspirations, it is important to strengthen the core technical service we offer. We’re happy to take this big step in offering unparalleled stability to our customers”

Currently at 1.4 million+ domains across the portfolio, all Radix zones receive over 181,513,643 DNS requests every day. 2 Radix TLDs (.site & .online) are in the top 10 largest new gTLDs and 5 of them (.online, .site, .website, .space and .tech) feature in the top 10 most used new gTLDs as per namestat.org.
