Radix, announces leading pioneers for .tech as it enters the Early Access Phase today (29th July) at 16:00 UTC.
Co-founder of OnePlus, Carl Pei—who recently revealed the highly-anticipated OnePlus 2 smartphone in the world’s first virtual reality product launch—is amongst the first tech industry leaders to reserve a .tech domain name. Carl intends to use ‘carl.tech’ for his blog and plans to make the move by the end of this year.
Influential experts featured in the list of Top 30 Power Players in Tech—Linus Sebastian, Jonathan Morrison, Austin Evans have also secured ‘linus.tech’, ‘tld.tech’ and ‘austin.tech’ respectively. All 3 of the tech influencers have a huge klout on social media and over a million subscribers on their YouTube Channels.
Global Diversity across the tech space
Companies and renowned brands are flocking to the new .tech domain extension. Award-winning Italian startup Horus Technology will be using ‘blind.tech’ to market its wearable device designed to assist the blind and visually-impaired.?Web Summit, the acclaimed Dublin-based three day technology conference that was attended by 22,000 delegates in 2014 will also use a .tech domain.
India’s leading media platform for entrepreneurs and the definitive source for stories on the world’s fastest growing ecosystem, YourStory.com, has also confirmed its participation in the .tech Pioneer Program.
Jessica Rose, an active proponent of inclusion and accessibility in the tech industry who currently blogs on Trans*Code aims to raise awareness about issues facing the transgender community through her new website ‘trans.tech’.
‘impact.tech’, founded by two Y Combinator alumni from San Francisco (Seth Bannon and Ela Madej), will be the go-to source for the impact entrepreneurship movement. It will feature a directory of for-profit startups focusing on social good, news about the industry, monthly interviews with the founders of companies that combine purpose with profit.
While the names have just been allocated, more than 40 such Pioneers will be taking their new .tech websites live over the upcoming months. The full list of Pioneers will be published on get.tech on 5th August, 2015.
.tech has been actively engaging with tech start ups and entrepreneurs via advertising, direct marketing campaigns and events like SXSW, Collision Conference, Rise. .tech plans to continue doing this and has a calendar full with events like Rise in HongKong, TechCrunch’s Disrupt & WebSummit.
